Hello, amazing woman! Feeling like it’s time to rev up your life with a big dose of positivity and direction? Let’s talk about something that can be your magic wand – an Affirmations Vision Board.

What’s a Vision Board?

Imagine a canvas that holds not just pictures, but your dreams, aspirations, and the essence of your ideal life.

It’s a physical or digital poster board filled with a collage of images, positive affirmations, and inspirational quotes that represent your personal goals and dreams. Pretty cool, right?

Why an Affirmations Vision Board?

Your subconscious mind is a sponge, soaking up all your thoughts and beliefs. By using the law of attraction, you can program it with a daily dose of positive energy through your very own vision board.

It’s a visualization technique that helps you stay focused on your dream life. Every time you look at your vision board, it puts you right in the middle of what you want most in life.

As covered in this article at Inc. magazine, “Visualization is the practice of repeatedly imagining what you want to achieve in order to create it and attract it.”

I know it sounds like New Age mumbo-jumbo, but it’s psychologically proven and completely legit. Professional athletes and business owners – like Michael Phelps, LeBron James and Oprah Winfrey – have been using visualization for decades to reach their goals.

When the mind believes it, you can achieve it.

How to Create an Affirmations Vision Board: Step-by-Step Guide

So are you ready to get started? This is the fun part. Let’s create an inspiring collage that reflects the best future you can imagine.

1. Gather Your Supplies

Whether it’s a poster board for a physical version or a digital platform for an online vision board, pick what suits you best. You’ll find tons of ideas on Pinterest!

Here’s a fun template on Canva.com, by creator @AnnaKu.

You’ll also need a bunch of magazines, clippings, or a collection of images from the internet. (If sharing your vision board online, be careful with free image sites like Pexels, Unsplash and Pixabay. Anyone can upload images there, so make sure they’re truly being offered with the owner’s permission.)

Finally, you’ll want artsy craft supplies like paper, colored pencils, markers, stickers, or anything else that calls to you. Scrapbooking supplies are perfect for vision boards.

2. Set the Mood

Find a comfy spot in your home office or any space that feels right. Maybe light a candle, play some music… Make it inspirational, motivational and relaxing – just how you want your life to feel! Have fun with this. 🙂

3. Reflect on Your Goals

Think about the areas of your life you want to jazz up. Is it career success, personal growth, or maybe love and mutual respect?

Do you dream of perfecting a new talent? Winning a marathon? Building houses for Habit for Humanity? Write it down!

4. Select Your Images and Words

Flip through those magazines or browse online platforms. Look for images that resonate with your true self and words that sing to your heart. Cut ’em out or save ’em!

5. Lay It Out

Before you commit, play with the arrangement. This collage of words and images should make you feel like the best version of yourself is just around the corner.

It can be photos only, words only, or a combination of the two. There’s no right or wrong way.

Here’s an example of a fantastic vision board, created by a young girl who wants to travel. You can just imagine how Paris comes alive for her, every time she looks at it.

6. Glue or Click

If you’re going old-school, glue those pieces down. Digital diva? Click ’em into place.

7. Affirm in the Present Tense

Write out some positive statements or grab one of the 50 I’ve included above. Write it in the present tense, as though your goal is already a reality. “I am living an extraordinary life,” sounds so much more powerful than “I will live…,” doesn’t it?

8. Make It Visible

Place your vision board somewhere you can see it every day. Let it be that constant reminder that directs your daily affirmations and keeps your goals top of mind.

Every time you see your vision board, you’re reinforcing those goals to your subconscious mind. The brain is wired to automatically move toward what we focus on.

As it’s said, “What we think about, we bring about.” Thoughts become things. So think good ones.

9. Update Regularly

As you evolve, so should your board. Don’t be afraid to add new things or remove what no longer serves your vision. Life is dynamic and ever evolving – just like you.

The Real Magic of Vision Boards

The real power of vision boards lies in the clear vision they provide and the positive changes they can inspire in your life.

By seeing your goals and affirmations daily, you remind yourself of where you want to go – a great way to keep your positive mindset on track.

Every morning, stand in front of your board. Take in the visual representation of your goals, and affirm your path to an ideal life.

It’s a visualization practice that can be the most important thing to start your day.

And Remember…

There’s no wrong way to create a vision board. It’s a personal visualization tool that should reflect your authentic self. It’s not just about slapping on a wedding ring image or a picture of a tropical beach (unless that’s part of your dream life!).

It’s about making sure every piece of your vision board feels like a step towards a life filled with positive emotions and achievements.

Which Is Best: Digital or Physical?

The digital age offers amazing online tools that allow you to create and carry a portable vision board with you everywhere. But some still love the tactile feel of a physical board – and they want it on their wall.

(Hey! How about putting one on your wall and then taking a photo of it? Win-Win!)

Whichever you choose, make it a tangible example of your aspirations.

Tips To Remember

– Use positive words in the present tense.

– Add new goals and dreams as you achieve them.

– Keep it in a place where it’s the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing at night.

Your Vision Board, Your Rules

Whether it’s your first vision board for the upcoming year or an update to an existing one, remember, this is about you and your journey.

It’s a great tool not just for personal use but can even be a way to connect with family members or friends who share similar aspirations.

Create one for your small business or creative team!

So, take that small step towards your dream life. In the end, it’s about hard work, daily affirmations, and keeping those goals in your sight.

Here’s to creating a beautiful vision board that leads you to an extraordinary life!

Now, go create your magic canvas, and let the universe know you’re ready for all the good things it has to offer!
